How to Hide Formula In Excel

The most powerful feature that Excel offers are functionsand formulas. It's like a text editor without the functions, or even less. We can use functions to create our own formulas and use them wherever we desire. However, there are situations when we don't want people to see our formula. If this is the case, the excel formula can be readily hidden. You can use this method to hide formulas in excel cells with or without a password. In this video, I'll show you both alternatives.

1st step: You must select the full worksheet to show or conceal formulas. You can either press CTRL+A or click the button in the top left corner to select the entire worksheet. Above the first Row and before the first column.

2nd step: Right-click and click "Format Cell" after you've selected the entire worksheet.

3rd step: Next, go to "Protection" and uncheck the "Locked" checkbox. Click the OK button.

4th step: Now you must pick all of the cells that contain the formula. It's quite simple.

Select "Find and Select" from the "Home tab." Then select "Go to Special" and then "Formulas" from the dialogue box. After that, click "Ok." This will select all of the cells on that worksheet that have a formula.

5th step: After you've selected all of the cells with formulas, right-click on one of them. Select Format Cells now.

6th step: Select the "Protection" option and then "Hidden."

7th step: Now the last part. Click on the “Review” tab and then “Protect Sheet”. Now a popup will open and you’ll be asked to enter your password. If you want to hide formulas in an Excel spreadsheet with a password, enter the password twice and click OK. If you just want to hide and to unhide without a password, then do not enter the password here. Just click “Ok” twice. Done.

This is how you can hide formulas in Excel and show values without using any VBA. Now if you want to reveal the formula, you need to click on the review tab. Then click on the unprotected sheet. If it is password protected, then enter the password to unprotect it. If it is not, then a simple click on unprotect sheet will do.

Some things to consider:

1. This method conceals the formula in Excel while allowing input.

2. Unless you unprotect your worksheet, you won't be able to see any formulas.

3. Although the formula will be concealed, it can still be used.

As a result, if someone accidentally alters your formula, it will be lost. You may, however, simply overcome this. In Excel, here's how to lock a formula. Your formulas will be locked, and no one will be able to alter or delete them without your password.

How to Marge or Combine Multiple Excel Workbooks Into One

There are occasions when we need to consider combining multiple workbooks. You're working on a quarterly report, for example. You must consider the data from January, February, March, and April for the first quarter. If you keep data on a monthly basis, you'll need to marge those four files into a single workbook for a more accurate report. Of course, you could just open each workbook and copy the data to a new one. This could be done with four workbooks, but what about a hundred? Is it possible for you to manually combine those Excel files into one? That's completely ridiculous. You'll almost certainly need an automated solution for this. In this article, I'll teach you how to automatically merge numerous Excel spreadsheets into one. I'll be utilizing VBA for this, and you'll be able to combine multiple workbooks at once by simply hitting a button. You don't need to be a VBA expert to achieve this, so don't be concerned. This is something that

6 Ways To Convert Formula to Values in Excel

You'll learn the 6 most effective techniques to replace a formula with its output in this Excel tutorial for beginners . It is quite vital for you as a novice. You'll need to employ Excel formula and functions from time to time as you progress. The formula must be written in an empty cell because most functions require multiple references. You may need to delete the reference cell, row, or column once you've found the result. This is when you'll run into a problem with your formula. You can get around this by converting the formula to a value. Your first name is in column A, and your last name is in column B, for example. In column C, you must now join the first and last names. You can do that via a function, as seen in this video (https://youtu.be/kON7LGHFcyw). What if you need to remove columns A and B from the workbook your formula will fail if these two columns are removed. We may need to eliminate the complete formula while preserving the formula result in some cas
